"Enrolling our children at SBSUM was one of the best decisions for our family. We love how our school is deeply rooted in God's word, prioritizes the parent-teacher partnership and pursues academic excellence. The impact we've seen in our home life has been dramatic and an incredible blessing." - Brent & Toni Furrow
Sharing the SBS Mission with All Families
The Second Baptist School admissions process is structured to reflect the mission of the school - to equip students to think critically, live biblically and lead courageously. Each step of our admissions journey is purposeful and deliberate in order to select mission appropriate candidates to be a part of our caring community.
Parent Preparation & Training
Prior to the start of school, at least one parent of each student will be required to attend the annual Parent Kick-Off event.
Satellite teacher training day(s) allow you to sit down with your student's teacher(s) to understand the scope-and-sequence of the curriculum. This time will serve as an overview to help parents understand what to expect from satellite study days.
Parents will receive ongoing leadership training from teachers as the year progresses. You will also receive books, uniforms, and other materials on training days.
Meet the Teacher
Prior to the first day of Pre-Grammar and Grammar classes, new students will have an opportunity to meet his/her teacher, fellow students and visit the classroom. The Logic & Rhetoric Retreat serves as a "meet the teacher" event for Logic and Rhetoric students.
